A brief note on practice:

I consider myself to be a documentary photographer. As such, the practice I engage in, often labeled “street photography,” is arguably a practice of creating art out of a moment where people are or have been.

Photography has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I first began shooting 35mm film in 2020 after I was given an Olympus OM-1 by a friend of mine in Denver. I tried exploring a documentary style while exploring the city, but I always felt conflicted by this idea of capturing moments without consideration for the people who made them possible. The moment itself is precious, but its consent is more vital. The works below are a reflection on what it means to capture a moment with consideration for the context and the people with[out]in them.
